The IU Health South Support Building (SSB) is a significant component of IU Health’s new downtown Indianapolis hospital campus. Garmong Construction is overseeing the construction of this expansive project, which is valued at $178 million. The SSB, designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, will encompass over one million square feet, featuring a lower level, street level, and seven parking decks. The facility will include a variety of amenities such as a loading dock, logistics and office spaces, retail areas, and a utility corridor that connects critical utilities between a central plant and the hospital. The construction method being employed is Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc), with a focus on diversity and inclusion throughout the project phases.
