Vernon Township Fire Station #432

Garmong along with the design partners led the newly formed Vernon Township Fire Territory through the design and construction  of its first new station through the Build-Operate-Transfer statute. The station is 12,100 square-feet and accommodates 10  firefighters. Recognizable to the community as a fire station but designed with the residential and suburban context in mind, the  new single story structure has all of the sleeping, day and support spaces efficiently connected to the apparatus bays to maximize  response time.

Lawrence Fire Station #38

Garmong Construction served as the Construction  Manager and DELV Design as the Architect/Interior Designer  on this new five-bay fire station for the City of Lawrence,  IN. The station, Lawrence’s first to implement best practices  relative to carcinogen containment and segregation, is being  built with firefighter health and safety at the forefront of  design. This modern station is approximately 17,698 GSF  and is being constructed on the site of the current Station 38.
To accommodate apparatus storage during construction and  specialty equipment storage post construction, the project also  includes a five-bay (4,812 GSF) pre-engineered building on  the same site. This state-of-the-art station will be a prototype  for future Lawrence stations.

Vigo County Jail

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as the Construction Manager for a new jail and Sheriff’s Office for Vigo County. The 154,848-square-foot facility includes 504 beds, expandable by an additional 216 beds, sheriff’s administration spaces, training area, employee facilities, vehicle maintenance space, a medical area, booking and intake area, and laundry and food service spaces. Garmong Construction has assisted the Architect and Owner with proposed site selection and budgeting.

Hancock County Jail

Greenfield, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for this new, 110,000-square-foot, 450-bed jail. Facility features will include central command centers, adjacent day rooms to inmate cells, dorm style inmate cells, recreation areas, book-in areas that include holding cells, interview and attorney rooms, commercial kitchen and laundry, and commissary. The project is being built on 20 acres of county-owned land north of U.S. 40 between County Roads 400E and 500E, and also includes overall site development and coordination with the County on a road extension.

Greene County Jail

Bloomfield, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the renovation and expansion of the Greene County Jail. This approximately $10M project included renovation of the dispatch area, central control and command center, existing housing, and direct contact space; the incorporation of a medical services area; as well as general systems upgrades to the plumbing, lighting, security doors and locks, security electronics systems, video visitation, fire alarm, and HVAC. Additions included a new housing pod and a new sallyport to increase efficiencies and security associated with prisoner intake.

Posey County Jail

Mt. Vernon, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the renovation and expansion of Posey County Jail. The expansion consisted of a new, 19,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building housing POD with a central command center and adjacent inmate day rooms. The existing building was renovated down to the building structure and included the construction of new offices, visitation, and booking areas.

Hendricks County Jail

Danville, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this new 160,000-square-foot, 574-bed jail, located on a 15-acre site. The project consisted of a new jail and administrative offices, inclusive of sheriff’s administration spaces, a training area, booking and intake area, central command center, adjacent day rooms to inmate cells, dorm style inmate cells and recreation areas. The completed project provides for more operational efficiency and state-of-the art technology.

Lawrence Township Police Department

Lawrence, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager on a new police headquarters for the City of Lawrence. The 37,000-square-foot, two-story facility, inclusive of a storage basement, houses administrative offices equipped with state-of-the art safety and security features; detention areas that include interview space, detention cells and audio-visual technology that improves efficiency of operations and increases safety to officers; a sally port for secured prisoner transport; and a community room.

Sullivan County Jail

Sullivan, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for Sullivan County’s new jail and sheriff’s office. The 69,000-square-foot facility will include a 200-bed housing pod, 911 call center, and sheriff’s office. Construction systems will utilize precast concrete panels, a conventional concrete block and pre-engineered metal building, and prefabricated steel cells.

Knox County Jail

Vincennes, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for the renovation and addition to the Knox County Jail.  This project includes a new 200-bed housing pod addition and an extensive renovation of the existing jail and Sheriff’s Department administration wing. In addition, a new standalone community correction/work release facility will be constructed adjacent to the Knox County Jail.

Vermillion County Jail

Hillsdale, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for this 142-bed jail renovation and addition, located on a 36-acre site in Vermillion County. This project will consist of renovations to the existing sheriff and dispatch areas, secure housing, complete HVAC upgrades, booking, and central control areas. The addition will include a new sheriff and dispatch area, secure housing, recreation and program space, medical area, kitchen, and sallyport.

Gibson County Jail

Princeton, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for the Gibson County Corrections Center in Princeton, IN. This project is currently in the early design and programming preconstruction phase, where the Garmong Team is collaborating with the owner and architect to determine the County’s needs and budget.

Johnson County Jail

Franklin, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for an addition and renovation to the existing Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center. The housing pod included the addition of 268 beds and a sally port. Interior renovations created a new medical area, book-in and holding, and program space. A total of 45,370 square-feet was added to the existing facility.

Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center

Rochester, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the new Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center in Fulton County. The 49,910-square-foot facility sits on a 15.73-acre site and included 225 beds spread over 60 prefabricated steel cells and dorm-style detention areas. The Sheriff’s Office included booking, visitation, man and vehicular sally ports, a crime scene investigation lab, a physical training room, and multiple law enforcement offices.

Indiana Army National Guard Maintenance Shop #8

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for the Indiana Army National Guard Maintenance Shop #8. This $8.0M, 30,000-square-foot, masonry-constructed facility serves as a repair shop for vehicles and equipment and includes 10 work bays, along with a 25-ton overhead crane to service the work bay area, offices, supply room, storage areas, fitness center, and bathrooms/showers. This project is LEED Silver certified.

Wayne Township Fire Station

Indianapolis, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the demolition and reconstruction of the existing Wayne Township Fire Station 82 and partial renovation of the Wayne Township Government Center. The new fire station is 22,595 square-feet and there is 6,683 square-feet of new/renovated space at the Government Center.

Lawrence Township Fire Department – Fire Station 332

Lawrence, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this 8,768-square-foot renovation of the existing building and an 8,616-square-foot addition. This $2.5M project included a new EMS apparatus bay, apparatus support spaces, men’s and women’s living quarters, and a workout/fitness room.

Jackson County Judicial Center

Brownstown, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this 38,000-square-foot project to consolidate three existing courts into one facility, along with the ancillary services required to support the courts, plus create space for an anticipated fourth court. Special consideration was given during the design phase to the incorporation of state-of-the-art security measures.

Monticello Fire Station

Monticello, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for a new, 25,500-square-foot, $7.0M fire station. The two-story, seven-bay station included six drive-thru style apparatus bays, apparatus support space, 11-dorm living quarters, a dayroom and kitchen, training and fitness areas, a turnout gear and SCUBA room.  The administration area included a 40-person classroom/training area that is also available for use by the general public.

Terre Haute Fire Training Facility

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for this approximately 8,500-square-foot fire training center. The center houses training classrooms, an apparatus bay for emergency response vehicle training, and administration offices.

Taylor Township Fire Station

Crane, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this 8,900-square-foot fire station located just northwest of Crane Naval Base and WestGate Tech Park. This eight-bay station included an open lounge, training area, two kitchens and private sleeping quarters. Six of the bays are equipped with overhead water supply hydrants and air supply lines to service the emergency response vehicles.

Shelbyville Fire Station

Shelbyville, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Program and Construction Manager for this new, 13,000-square-foot fire station. The first floor houses 11,550 square-feet with a 1,450-square-foot mezzanine. The overall facility includes a three-bay apparatus area, eight-dorm living quarters, a day room, kitchen, training, fitness areas, a turnout gear room, and a hazmat/laundry area. The facility serves as a replacement for the existing station which was outdated and no longer serviceable.
